Why Anne’s Love was created
Years of family caregiving meant hiring and managing aides, dealing with agencies, coordinating with doctors, confronting Medicaid and payment questions, adjusting as needs changed and facing difficult end-of-life decisions.
Families often need something more practical than a disease overview: clear questions, realistic comparisons and a way to decide what to do next without being pressured.
Lived experience—with honest limits
Anne’s Love is grounded in firsthand family experience. That perspective can help identify the practical details that generic information often misses: whether a backup caregiver actually exists, who is responsible for payroll, how nighttime needs change a schedule, and when caregiver exhaustion becomes a safety issue.
But lived experience is not the same as medical, legal, financial or professional care-management expertise. Anne’s Love does not diagnose conditions, prescribe care or tell a family what medical treatment a person needs. Families should involve qualified professionals for decisions within their expertise.
They may not always understand your care, but they always feel it. Loving someone through Alzheimer’s hurts in ways words can’t explain, yet your presence becomes the comfort they can no longer find the words to ask for.
